Step 2: Setup Sage Intacct to QuickBooks

  • Open Sage Intacct and load the specific file you intend to convert.
  • Navigate to the Maintain option in the main menu.
  • Under Users, select Setup Security.
  • Within the security settings, locate the Data Access/Crystal Reports tab.
  • Choose the option With the following login information.
  • Note that the ID field cannot be modified.
  • Click Change and set a password for the data transfer. The password must be 8 characters or less; exceeding this limit may cause issues with the conversion tool.
  • After configuring your new password, select OK.
  • Finally, close the Sage Intacct application.

Step 3: Download the Conversion Tool

  • Begin by downloading the QuickBooks Conversion Tool from a reliable source.
  • Locate the folder where you saved the downloaded file.
  • Right-click on the QuickBooks Conversion Tool icon.
  • Select Properties.
  • In the Compatibility tab, check the box that says Run this program in compatibility for:.
  • Choose Windows 8 (even if you are using Windows 10) from the dropdown menu.
  • Click OK to save the changes.
  • Finally, right-click on QuickBooksConversionToolSetup.exe and choose Run as Administrator.

Step 4: Convert Your Data

  • Open the Sage Intacct Application.
  • Choose the company file you want to convert.
  • Click the Browse button within the conversion tool.
  • Locate and choose the specific company file you wish to convert.
  • From the Database Name dropdown menu, select your Sage Intacct company file.
  • If you have multiple files, scroll to find your company name and click OK.
  • Provide the password you recently created.
  • Avoid using special characters.
  • Click Browse again and select the folder where you want to save the converted data.
  • If no folder is specified, the default location will be your My Documents folder.
  • We recommend a file structure at most 2 folders deep.
  • Double-check the information you’ve provided.
  • Click Convert File.
  • This will launch QuickBooks, and an Application Certificate window will appear, requesting access to the company file.
  • QuickBooks will automatically open.
  • When prompted, select Yes to Prompt Each Time and then click Continue.
  • Note that this prompt may appear twice.
  • The conversion tool will run automatically.
  • Data conversion may take some time.
  • You’ll receive a notification if the conversion is successful.
  • Once the tool completes its task, a pop-up will prompt you to open the converted file in QuickBooks.
  • It may take a few minutes for your file to open in QuickBooks fully.

Step 5: Review the conversion.

  • Click on Open in QuickBooks to access your converted data within the QuickBooks application.
  • Take a moment to review your data in QuickBooks and verify that all information has been accurately transferred.
  • Open the Windows Start menu.
  • Search for and launch File Explorer.
  • Go to the following directory: C:\USERS\[Your Windows User Name]\My Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks.
  • Within this folder, examine the failed transaction log file.
  • The log will indicate whether any data failed to transfer during the conversion process.
