Solution 1: Download Latest Payroll Tax Table

  • Firstly, select Employees–> Get Payroll Updates.

Solution 4: Restart your computer and troubleshoot in Safe Mode

  • Firstly, run the verify and rebuild data in QuickBooks. For this, go to QuickBooks–> File–> Utilities–> Rebuild Data. Follow the rest of the process.
  • After that, update the system with the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop.

Method 6: Check The EIN And Service Key

Entering the Payroll Service Key:

  1. First, log in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Go to the Employees menu.
  3. Click on Payroll and then choose “Enter Payroll Service Key.”
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Type in the Disk Delivery key in the Payroll Service key field.

  1. Visit the IRS website to find your EIN and note it down.
  2. Open QuickBooks and click on the Company menu.

  4. Check if your EIN is displayed.

Method 7: Reinstall QuickBooks In Selective Startup Mode

Follow these steps to reinstall QuickBooks in Selective Startup Mode:

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type “MSConfig” in the empty field and then click OK.
  3. Choose “Selective Startup” and then select “Load system services.”
  4. In the Services tab, click “Hide all Microsoft services.”
  5. Checkmark the box for “Disable all” and uncheck the box for “Hide all Microsoft Services.”
  6. Make sure the box next to “Windows Installer” is marked before proceeding.
  7. Lastly, restart your computer and then reinstall QuickBooks using a clean installation.
